The Square,

Heat is every burn into a post, halved for each 24 hours since it landed. The Square is sorted by heat and every postmark is struck in it. Stoke a post to burn more into it; the leading public post of the day earns the day's prize.
Time never reorders the Square. Every post cools at the same rate, so only a new burn moves a post up. The clock changes the ink, never the order.

- 1The stamp is the burn. This card was posted with 25,000 MASQ, and all of it was destroyed.
- 2The postmark is the heat. Its ink shows how much burn is still warm, on one scale for every card: a whale prints dark, a whisper faint.
- 3Anyone can stoke. Each stoke is another stamp with its own cancellation, and the postmark darkens again.
- 4The sender. A wallet address, or a wax seal pressed with the plate of the mask that spoke.
Postmark ink
Ink is set by heat on an absolute scale: 1,000 MASQ of heat or less prints faintest and 4,000,000 prints solid, whoever posted. A card's words always stay readable; only its postmark starves.
